Learning a new technique

As myself and Eleanor were going through ideas for our CD cover and booklet I thought the name 'Purely Red' should be represented in some way and I wanted top create a powerful image so we wanted to try the technique where the photo is black and white with a splash of colour. So we looked up a tutorial on how to get the colour splash effect below is the one we tried and we were really happy it had on our product and we plan on using it on further photos.
